Off to Sleep and Off to Church

My mother in law just finished putting Keisha to sleep. We had a hard time trying to make her fall asleep as she just wasn't sleepy and wanted to be told horror stories over and over again. Her dad and I promised her that we'd go to church once she's done sleeping along with Nicole and hopefully, my mother in law would join us as well.

Both Keisha and my mom in law are down and out, and Nicole just started to wake up. I'll have to end blogging early as she's up and will soon be crying. I'll probably take her to her dad upstairs while I take a bath and prepare for our day at church.

Keisha Rehearsing for her Poem Recital

Here's a video of Keisha rehearsing for her poem recital. Hopefully we also get to upload the video of the actual contest soon.

Keisha's First Contest at School

August 27, 2008 is a day I will remember forever.

This is the first time Keisha participated in a poem recital contest at her school. She competed with students a year level younger and a year level older than hers. She did very well, despite the fact that we were not aware that there was a theme for the contest (and her teacher did not inform us as well) and the poem she recited was about friendship.

She didn't stutter, stop, or forget her lines. Henry was near to tears and I was just downright sobbing while we watched our eldest daughter make the 27th of August such a monumental event for us parents.

Here's some pictures of Keisha and us while at her school. I'll post her poem next.

Sleepy and pretty.

I'm tired!

Away for a Week

I decided to stay off the computer for a week as it was my birthday and I wanted to have time for myself and the kids. Henry's also away on a long trip to Ilocos and won't be back by the 20th.

Keisha doesn't have school today as it's a holiday, and will be having her first quarter exams this week. My mother in law has been reviewing her daily to make her prepared for the exam. She's already learned a lot about Math, shapes, and her other lessons.

I was laughing to myself yesterday as I suggested to my mom in law that she let Keisha actually taste bitter, sweet, sour, and salty stuff as this was part of their lessons. For sweet, we had her taste sugar, sour we let her sip vinegar, for salty we let her taste salt, and for bitter, we had her taste a granule of coffee.

I'm glad that Keisha understands what the taste actually is, but I guess she was a bit confused about the names of the things she's tasting , not to mention the fact that she has to learn them both in English and Filipino.

More on the Link Request

I just got an email today about the link request, and I'm glad that the price had somehow increased. The guy who was emailing me offered me a package deal for all three blogs at a reasonable rate. I couldn't pass up the chance and I had to accept.

So there. I hope I get more link requests soon!

Daddy's Home!

Henry came home last Sunday and Keisha and I are just happy. Even Nicole seemed to miss her dad a lot as she always smiles at Henry and wants to be carried by him all the time. He came home around 1:30am and Keisha and Nicole was already asleep. My mom in law woke Keisha up so she could see the goodies her dad bought for her but she was too sleepy and didn't even remember the following day that it was her dad who tucked her in when he came home.

I'm glad he's home.

Missing Daddy

Keisha is beginning to miss her dad whether she admits it or not. I know my kid so much to the point that I can tell what she's thinking or feeling just by the way she looks, acts, and moves. Now, her appetite isn't that well when on other days she can eat a whole bag of bread and cheese on her own. She just had about 5 spoonfuls of rice earlier at lunch, and also slept really late last night.

OK, so it's was a Friday and all and there's no school yesterday, but she's tired from school and is usually out like a light on weekdays, but last night was different. It was already past midnight - the time I leave for work - and she was still up!

To be honest, I don't know how I can comfort her when I miss her dad so much as well.

A Link Request

Yesterday I received an email from an advertiser requesting to place a link on this blog for a year for 30 GBP. Converting it to my currency, it would sum up to about Php 2,400. I am just concerned that since this link is supposed to be live for a year whether the price is reasonable or not.

To satisfy my doubts, I sent an email to the advertiser asking if that was their best offer considering the link should stay on my blog's homepage for a year. I am waiting for their response and hopefully it will be a favorable one.
