A Pink Beach Ball

My officemates and I had to decorate our stations with a summer theme, and since the judging is over, I decided to take home (with the consent of my team leader and approval of my teammates, of course) the small inflatable boat and a pink beach ball. I had to deflate these items after blowing and blowing really hard, since they wouldn't fit in my bag and I wouldn't want to ride the bus carrying all of these.

When I got home, I showed them to Keisha and proceeded to inflating them again. Keisha is really happy about the pink ball, although she plays with the boat as well. Whenever I come home from work, she always asks me to play catch with her, something that I really like since I get some time to play with her.

I hope that we will be able to buy the house and lot that my husband and I are dreaming of. It would be a great place to celebrate Nicole's first birthday on June and Keisha's fifth birthday on October.

Cartoons Galore

Keisha is at her usual self today, still refusing to take her afternoon nap since she's busy watching cartoons. I'm glad that she's back to eating a lot, and she's also pretty excited with the fact that she'll be studying this school year. She already knows how to write her name, and can identify colors like the back of her hand.

As for Nicole, she already has 4 teeth barely surfacing from her gums, except for the two on her lower jaw. As with some babies, she had a slight fever that lasted for more than 24 hours when her teeth were trying to come out. But she's all better now and is back to being really active, wants to be carried, and says a lot of stuff already.

Two kids can be a handful every now and then, and I just love every minute of it.

Tricep Exercises on Wellsphere

Certainly everybody wants a healthy and good-looking body. I mean, who wouldn't? And I happened to come across a great online resource for tricep exercises. The site is called Wellsphere and it features great questions and answers on tricep exercises, questions almost everyone who's interested in getting a lean body often ask, and real answers to those questions. There are also great videos to watch as samples for exercises, plus a forum for people who want to discuss tricep exercises, as well as share tips and advice on getting and staying motivated.

Swept Away by a Wii

I wonder who the lucky Charter Cable subscriber will win in the Win a Wii sweepstakes. Yup, you heard me right. If you live in an area that is covered or serviced by Charter Cable, then you get a chance to win a complete set of a Nintendo Wii.

Included in the package the lucky winner will win is of course the Nintendo Wii Console, a Wii Stand, 5 sports games, namely boxing, basketball, tennis, golf, and bowling, 1 Nunchuk controller, 1 Sensor Bar, 1 Wii AC Adapter and 1 Wii AV Cable. So basically, if you win, you're set and ready to play with no need of any additional equipment.

But Charter Cable's sweepstakes gets even better. You can also participate in their Charter's Internet For Life auction, where bidding ala auction style starts at $10 - no reserve! Imagine the chance of getting reliable high speed cable internet for just $10 a month for life, plus a complete Wii set! Sounds great, right? Then head over to this page for a complete list of rules and see if you qualify.

Good luck!

Going Smoothly

Keisha's been doing OK so far...My husband and I actually took her to a different hospital and had her checked by a pediatrician who also specializes in poison related issues. She said that since the first 24 hours after the incident are the most critical hours and Keisha passed those with flying colors, she was pretty much out of the shade.

Eventually and over time, it may be hard to predict what the future will hold for Keisha. One thing though that the doctor assured us is that the mercury she had ingested was thankfully not enough to cause some heavy, serious damage.

I am so thankful to God that even though I haven't been honestly taking much time to thank Him for all of His blessings, He did not let us down when we needed Him.

Mercury Ingestion

Last February 26, Keisha got confined in the hospital for mercury ingestion. This was the worst day of all of our lives. We ended up sleeping in the hospital, and now we're waiting for a test result that takes weeks before we find out.

When I was a kid, I recall that neither my elder sisters and I have been hospitalized when we were kids. I can't help but feel like a bad parent, and I can't blame my mom in law too. Keisha has her way of being naughty to the point that you'll get so fed up you just feel the urge to spank her, something we don't do so we just turn our backs around and wait until her spell is over.

My mom in law takes care of Nicole, and Henry was at a meeting that night. Keisha said she felt like she had a fever so she took one of our chairs from the dining table, and reached for the thermometer on top of the fridge. She put it inside her mouth, but I guess she bit it too hard as it broke. My mom in law said Keisha spit a lot out, and there was also a lot of mercury left in the broken thermometer. She also made Keisha gargle with water, but we just both wanted to be sure she was free from any harm.

Since during the first 24 hours she didn't suffer from nausea, vomiting, dizziness, or stomach aches, we were released the following day and we're just waiting for one of her test results for mercury level. We're waiting and praying...
