The Day Before Her Dad Leaves

Today is the day before Henry leaves for Ilocos. He'll be gone for several days, and I'm wondering how Keisha will do. When Henry left for a long trip last year, Keisha had a hard time sleeping as she was waiting for her dad. I am hoping that since she has school to keep her busy and her mind off of things, she might be a little bit better this year compared to last year.

Henry's on another daily tour today, and I'm not sure what time tomorrow he'll be leaving. But I hope I'm here to see him off. With the work I have which makes nights into mornings and Henry's work that eats up most of the day, we rarely get to see each other during peak seasons. It makes me sad, but I just shrug things off and breathe, after all, we're doing these for the kids.

I'll miss him terribly, an I know Keisha will too. I just hope he stays safe all the time.

A Birthday Party at School

Keisha was really excited to go to school today. One of her classmates, Ashley, is celebrating her birthday at school. Since it's school policy that birthdays can only be celebrated during Fridays, I'm not sure exactly when her actual birthday is and how old she is now.

I went and bought a stuffed Blue from Blue's Clues as a gift for Keisha's classmate and wrapped it in a birthday wrapper. Since it was pretty big, Keisha was excited in carrying it to school. She also proudly displayed what she had in hand when we got to her classroom earlier today. Although we were minutes late, she didn't mind and just proceeded to her seat as if nothing was wrong.

When Keisha saw Blue, she said she also wanted one. I guess I'll probably end up buying one for her as well. But not today though. Maybe tomorrow, as I still have to go to work tonight and sleep early.

Mid-Quarter Exams

Keisha will be having her first ever Mid-Quarter exams on July 23 - 25. I'm not sure yet what the exam will cover, but my mom has been extensively reviewing her daily lessons at school. I know Keisha will do well, as I have complete faith in my daughter's academic skills. But since this being her first school and technically speaking, her first ever mid-quarter exam, I just can't help but be nervous and excited at the same time.

On a side note, Leslie also has some things of her own going. She's applying for a higher position at work, which I am also keeping my fingers crossed for. There's just so much going on lately. Whew. I think I need to sit back and relax. These girls are making me tense. Lol.

Dear Mark Herras,

Yesterday I went to SM Valenzuela with my mom, my dad, my grandmother, and my baby sister Nicole who just turned a year old last June 28 in the hopes of getting a glimpse of you and the rest of the cast of Joaquin Bordado. As the mall was jam packed to the point wherein you couldn't drop a pin amongst the crowd, we tried waiting for you in the vehicle entrance. We waited in hot temperatures for more than 2 hours to no avail. We tried going inside the mall again but we couldn't find a good spot so that I could see you, even though I was riding on my dad's shoulders.

My mom asked me if it was OK if we just ate pizza and forgot about the whole thing. I said yes, as I was hungry already. But I felt really sad whenever the crowds cheered as I knew you were there and we were inside Pizza Hut. I really wanted to see you. But despite my grandmother's best efforts, there was nothing much we could do.

As we were going home, crowds were surrounding the vehicle exit, and as we were about to walk home to get a ride home, we saw one of the show's cast, Eddie Garcia, waving at the people. My dad and my grandma got to shake his hand. We waited for several minutes more, and then we saw Pen Medina waving in the front seat of the van.

And that was when I saw you, Mark Herras. You were sitting at the back of the van wearing a white cap. My grandma carried me in her arms amidst people pushing each other and I knocked at the window on the back of your van. I was knocking really hard and calling out your name, and you could have at least waved or looked back and smile. But you didn't even bother to look at your fans, you jerk. I didn't know you were such a snob in real life when you seemed so friendly and nice on TV. My grandma and I chased your van for like 4 times before we gave up. Not once did you look. Not once did you bother to wave. You have seriously disappointed a four year old fan of yours who started watching you and your career through Starstruck.

And now, I end this letter/post by saying I hate you Mark Herras. You have lost me, my mom, my dad, my sister, and my grandma as your fans. All we were waiting for was for you to smile back or wave. What a jerk.

Keisha and Spongebob

Leslie was busy changing the templates on her blogs and this blog as well. I found it funny how she had put in effort re-adding the widgets and all when Keisha said she just wanted this Spongebob template back. I understand why Leslie would want a three column template so she can add ads, widgets, a calendar, and other stuff. But hey - we're making this blog for Keisha so it's her word that rules.

With all the effort my wife has put into this blog, I hope that Keisha will enjoy reading this when she grows up. Hmmm...this makes me think - what will we do when Keisha turns five this October?
