Pics of Keisha and Nicole

Here are some pics of Keisha and Nicole that we took earlier today. They're still in their pajamas since they just woke up.

As we promised, here are pics of Keisha (and some that she took) when she came home yesterday.

Coming Home

Keisha's over at my mom's place since yesterday and she's scheduled to come home today. I miss her already, but I used yesterday to do the laundry and other stuff so that I'd have today entirely with her.

I'm also excited to take pictures with her with the new digicam, since I haven't taken pictures of her yet. I'm also excited to take pictures with her, Nicole, Henry, my mom in law, and me. I guess something sort of like an informal family picture of sorts.

Her dad is also busy finishing chores like cleaning our electric fans, so that when she comes here she can rest for a little while and then we can go to the church for the Sunday mass.

I guess being away from Keisha just made me miss her terribly.

A Trip to the Mall

All of us are getting ready right now to go the mall. We're going to do some grocery shopping for Christmas and other stuff like bath soap, toothpaste, etc.

I forgot to mention that we bought a new ref, and now we need to put stuff in it - lol. So there, got to sign off guys, as I need to take a bath and get the kids ready.

Christmas Party at School

Today is Keisha's Christmas Party at school. I hurriedly went home from work so that I could make it home early as Keisha's party starts at 10am. I got home, got her dressed, and went to school with her. I also bought for her a meal from Jollibee, the one that has chicken and spaghetti in it.

Keisha also carried her gift for her classmate, the one she picked out of the pool. I hope her classmate likes it but more importantly, I am hoping Keisha gets a gift she'll like.

December 12 was a Success

I'd have to say we celebrated my mom's birthday with a bang. Although she already knew we were coming over, she was still surprised that we did come. Since I work at night, sometimes on weekends I promise her I'd drop by her house, and then find myself hours later magnetized on my bed and refusing against all reason to get up.

Keisha spent the evening with her Aunt Elena, my dad and mom, and me, my mom in law, and Nicole. Henry called while we were there, since we wasn't able to come with us as he had work. We bought a pancit malabon and a big chocolate cake, which unfortunately the icing was ruined and Keisha and Nicole's names were erased as it stuck to the top of the box.

It was so obvious that my parents missed the kids, and they were so surprised to see how big Keisha and Nicole had gotten. Remembering the evening we spent puts a smile to my face, although I ended up not being able to wake up for work and just rendering a half day's worth of work, it's so worth it.

Happy birthday mom! We love you.

Tomorrow's the Big Day

The surprise birthday party we've been planning all month is finally tomorrow. It's my mom's birthday, and I am really looking forward to it. I haven't been able to visit them for quite some time, and I'll be visiting them tomorrow with my mom in law, the kids, and hopefully Henry can join us as well.

Our presents are all ready and wrapped, and all we need tomorrow is to pick up the cake and the pancit we ordered. Keisha is also really excited about seeing her grandparents and her aunt. Hope everything goes well tomorrow!

Planning a Birthday Party

Leslie, Keisha, Nicole, my sister in law and my mom are busy planning a surprise party for my mom in law this Friday. Leslie already bought a present for her mom, and my mom is in charge of the birthday cake and the pancit, which is my mom in law's favorite.

Unless Keisha has already spilled the beans, my mom in law has no clue that we're having a party for her. They're planning on going over to their house right after Keisha's school on Friday.

I just hope that I won't be assigned to any work on that day, because I would love to go with them, especially since I heard my sister in law Elena plans on cooking lasagna on that day. Yum!

I know Keisha will have a great time on Friday as she'll get to visit her grandma, her grandpa, and her aunt. She likes staying there and they like having Keisha over as well. Hope everything turns out well on that date!

Marky Cielo Dies at the Age of 20

I'm sure Keisha will be sad when she hears that her favorite teen actor Marky Cielo, is dead. She's sleeping right now while I'm busy blogging and watching TV. The news report I heard is that he was found dead earlier today, December 07, 2008 by his mother who was trying to wake him up for a charity event around 6am but he never woke up.

As of now, the cause of death is still unknown, but there are reports that say he died in his sleep.

Our family would like to extend our condolences to Marky Cielo's family. He will be missed.

A Magic Wand

Henry and I went to my office to get my Christmas present for him and when we went home, we stopped by a tiangge selling all sorts of stuff, one of them being a battery - powered magic wand with sounds and lights.

I showed it to Henry, haggled with the price, and bought the said wand for Keisha. She and Nicole were still asleep when we got home, and Keisha was so happy to see the wand. She can't stop playing with it and is not yet done showing it off to everyone. Keisha is also very busy playing fairy godmother granting all of us wishes - me to be thinner (lol), her dad to have more hair (wahahaha) and her grandmother to be sexier, too.

Of course, pictures are still waiting to be uploaded as my USB cord to my cellphone is still missing. I would have also loved if you guys could see the pink crocs we bought for Nicole - she also hasn't taken them off yet - save for when she took her bath.

Choosing a Christmas Present

I wonder what Christmas present we should get Keisha this year. The problem with Keisha is that she easily gets tired of her toys and ignores them afterwards. Plus, she already has a lot of toys, so I really don't want to get her that for Christmas.

I am thinking of buying an easel for Keisha as she does love art, and can spend hours and hours writing and drawing. Plus, it will help her hone her art skills. I am just not sure where to put the easel in the house, but I guess when the easel's here, we'll figure something out.

Watercolor

All of us - Henry, my mom in law, Keisha, Nicole, and me went for a walk to look for nearby apartments. We thought of moving, as our current house can be hot during days since we only have 2 windows. While we were going home, we stopped by a store to buy ice, and Keisha bought a watercolor set. Henry and Keisha are busy doing watercolor art, and I took pictures but the USB cord to my phone is still missing.

I am beginning to think that Keisha is really inclined towards art. She can spend hours and hours with pieces of bond paper, pencils, and crayons. Now she has a watercolor set, I'm sure she'll be spending hours on it as well. I wonder what art Keisha will paint.

Family Day Today

Henry, my mom in law, and I are planning to have a family day today. We plan on going to the mall later after lunch and watch a movie. All of us, including Keisha and Nicole, will be watching this general patronage horror-comedy movie that Keisha has been asking about.

I am uncertain as to how Nicole will behave inside the theater, but with all of us there, I'm sure we'll have a good time. I also hope that Keisha will enjoy watching the movie, and that this will be a day she'll really enjoy. With both Henry and me working most of the week, I hope I can somehow compensate for the times I'm not around. I also hope it won't rain and spoil all of our plans.

I love you Keisha.

On Coughing and Ice Cream

Keisha's beginning to show signs she'll be having a cough, well, she already has a slight cough right now. But one of her godfathers gave her ice cream and Henry was having a hard time dissuading her from eating it. I understand that Henry just doesn't want her cough to get worse, but kids will be kids.

Keisha still had her way and ate her strawberry ice cream. She just ate a small portion, which I said was fine. I'm not a medical professional or whatever, but I just hate the look Keisha gives us when she feels upset. It makes me feel we're depriving her of things, when it's the other way around. My husband and I go on days without seeing each other just so we can give the kids what they need and what they want.

All I can say is, I hope when Keisha grows up, she'll come to understand that we are only thinking of her and what's best for her. If she didn't have a cough I'd let her eat the whole can of ice cream.

Happy Thanksgiving to All!

Happy Thanksgiving to All!

Terribly Sorry

Hi all!

We're terribly sorry for not having been able to update this blog as we had planned. This week has been really busy for all of us. For me, I'm still in the process of getting adjusted to a whole new work schedule. My mom in law has been busy reviewing Keisha for her mid-quarter exams which will last until Friday, and Henry's away on a trip and will hopefully be home tonight.

To be honest, I haven't had the luxury of getting enough sleep recently. I guess being used to a certain shift for almost 11 months can get the best of you, and this new shift of mine has been driving me nuts. Imagine, I've been late twice in a week! Grrr!

Oh well, moving on to Keisha...As I've said, it's her mid-quarter exams for this entire week, and my mom in law has been reviewing her well. They focused particularly on her Reading class, and I hope her grades will be better this quarter.

I am amazed at how time flies. Imagine, just a couple of months ago I was teary-eyed to see her off on her first day at school, and now the school year is almost over. I guess I really am getting older.

Eating Ice Cream

Keisha's finishing her second container of ice cream right now, and my mom in law is putting Nicole to sleep for her afternoon nap. Today went like any other day, nothing out of the extraordinary happening.

Keisha came home from school with 2 stars on her hand, which meant she did a pretty good job at school today. Do visit pictures of Keisha pigging out on ice cream.

Keisha's 2nd Quarter Report Card

Last Saturday, Henry went to Keisha's school to get her report card as I was still at work. When I got home, everyone was so tense because we found out that Keisha's grade in her Reading subject dropped a drastic 4 points, from 93 in the first quarter down to 89 this quarter. We were so surprised as Keisha's score in her 2nd quarter exams was a lot higher compared to her first one. This was also the first time Keisha will get a line of 80+ in her report card, as all of her grades in her first quarter were all line of 90+s.

As for her other subjects, her grades went up by one point or remained the same. I'll have a talk with her teacher later after her classes to see what went wrong with her grade in Reading for this quarter.

What's worse is that if Keisha didn't get that kind of score in her Reading classes, she would have been included in the overall top 10 for all the Kinder 1 students in her school. She only needed 0.33% to be included. *Sigh*

Looking Back on Keisha's 5th Birthday

Looking back on Keisha's birthday, we had such a great time. I want to share other rides in Star City that Keisha wasn't able to ride in because she didn't meet the height/age requirement:

The Surf Dance ride seemed too scary anyway, and I wouldn't want Keisha riding in it unless her parents are with her. It swings you back and forth and people who were riding it were really screaming their lungs out.

Here's the Star Flyer ride. Henry, Leslie, and Donna rode this one. It's sort of like a modern roller coaster that takes you for a 360 degree spin. I just watched them ride it and scream their lungs out. Leslie did most of the screaming, by the way.

Keisha's Star City Adventure Part 8 - The Rodeo Ride

Here's the 8th and last part of Keisha's Star City Adventure. Kindly read Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6 and Part 7 if you haven't. This is her riding the Rodeo ride. What makes this ride special is that she rode it all by herself.

Keisha's Star City Adventure Part 7 - The Ferris Wheel

Here's the 7th part of Keisha's Star City Adventure. Kindly read Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, and Part 6 if you haven't. This is her riding the Ferris Wheel. All of us were packed in a unit on the wheel, enjoying the view below.

Keisha's Star City Adventure Part 6 - The Wormy Worm

Here's the 6th part of Keisha's Star City Adventure. Kindly read Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, and Part 5 if you haven't. Here's Keisha riding the Wormy Worm ride. All of us rode it, me, daddy, Lola Monic, and Donna.

A Gift from Mom

Leslie bought these doggies from an officemate of hers and she bought them for Keisha and Nicole. Keisha took the dog on the left, the one that's light colored, and Nicole well, she obviously had the other one.

The kids are using them every now and then. It's actually a bolster pillow with doggie heads. They're still fairly clean up to now, and they look nice, don't you think?

Keisha's Star City Adventure Part 5 - The Mummy

Here's the 5th part of Keisha's Star City Adventure. You can read the Part 2 here and Part 3 here and Part 4 here if you haven't. It's a picture of the walk-in ride called The Mummy. I didn't know picture-taking inside the tunnel wasn't allowed so I snapped pictures away until a personnel from Star City asked me to stop. Sorry, I didn't know!

Keisha's Star City Adventure Part 4 - Gabi ng Lagim

Here's the 4th part of Keisha's Star City Adventure. You can read the Part 2 here and Part 3 here if you haven't. It's a picture of the walk-in ride called Gabi ng Lagim. Keisha was so scared when she came out of the tunnel as she said there were ghosts (people in costumes) scaring those who came in. But she said she had a good time although she didn't want to go in again.

Keisha's Star City Adventure Part 3 - Snow Whtite and the Seven Dwarfs

Here's the 3rd part of Keisha's Star City Adventure. You can read the Part 2 here if you haven't. The second ride we rode in Star City was the Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs ride. Pictures inside the tunnel aren't allowed so we just snapped some pictures before we took off. She sat with her Tita Donna during the ride.
