Keisha's Pictures at School

We'd just like to share Keisha's pictures at school. Here's some of them:

A New Template

Leslie's changed the template of this blog to Spongebob Squarepants. I think I know why she changed it - because Spongebob Squarepants is Keisha's favorite cartoon.

When she comes home from school, she is right on time for the afternoon edition of Spongebob Squarepants on Nickelodeon. We let her watch, since she just came home from school and she does need rest. And then after the show, we review her assignments and teach her lessons for tomorrow's classes. The following morning when she wakes up, we review her again after breakfast and it's usually Leslie that takes her to school after she comes home from work.

I know Leslie took several pictures of Keisha's first day at school and her wearing her uniform for the first time. I'll try to post them when I find the USB cord of our digicam. I think this template is nice, and at least the ads are kept to a minimum. When we showed it to Keisha, she liked it as well. What do you think?

No School Today

Due to a typhoon visiting the Philippines, Keisha doesn't have school today. As we read in her handbook, her classes are suspended as soon as storm signal #1 is raised.

She's right here in our living room, watching Mr. Bean. Her dad is currently asking her to take a bath, but she is pretending not to listen as she is too busy watching.

Her grandmother was reviewing her earlier with her assignments for school, and I'm glad Keisha's learning really well. Assignments are given to them every Friday, and I'm beginning to look forward to weekends spent teaching Keisha her homework.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day Henry!
Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there!

Behavior at School

This post was intended for June 13th, but I ended up writing it on a piece of paper at work as I didn't have the time to blog the whole week.

When my mom in law and I arrived at Keisha's school, we peeked at her classroom door and saw Keisha standing on a chair and reaching for the wall fan. She was really happy to see us, and on the ride home she confided with her grandma that she'd like for us to wait on her outside.

We also spoke with her teacher and looked at one of her artworks. Although she did not have two stars again, her artwork yesterday was not hung on the wall. Her teacher had asked them to paste cut-out circles on a piece of paper. But what she did was to paste different shapes and ended up tearing them when the teacher told her what she did was wrong.

My dilemma is how to manage our time going to the gym, waiting for Keisha at school, and our other chores. I guess I'll have to talk it over with Henry later today.

Two Stars

This post was intended for June 11th, but I ended up writing it on a piece of paper while I was at work as I hadn't had the time to blog this week.

Keisha got two stars yesterday at school. One was for the artwork she completed, and the other was fr the activity they did that involved balls, Keisha's favorite toy. Her dad took her to school as my mom in law and I went to the gym. When we got home, we quickly ate and changed clothes and picked Keisha up from school.

All along, Keisha was under the impression that her dad waited for her the whole time. We don't want her to think that we don't care, but we also want her to make used to going to school. We also want her to be independent enough to be able to handle herself.

Today will be her third day at school, and hopefully she gets another star later today.

Keisha's First Day at School

Keisha had a really great time at school today. She already made a new friend, Erisa Yamamoto, who is one of her classmates. I was amazed at Keisha since she wasn't like the other kids who cried and cried for their moms to be there inside their classroom. Keisha was totally different - she was even surprised when my mother in law went inside her room to fix her hair clips and when I went in to take pictures of her inside her room.

She also very cleverly drew and colored on a piece of paper which her teacher hung on the wall and she got three stars for it. As a reward, we took Keisha for a treat at SM Valenzuela and we dined at McDonald's. She ordered the Kiddie Meal with Po as the free toy, the one from Kung Fu Panda.

She's already looking forward to another day at school tomorrow, and I am more than glad that I can rest my fears about how her first day at school would be.

School on Tuesday

I'm really excited that Keisha's starting school this Tuesday already. Her schedule is from 1:00 in the afternoon up to 3:30. Her uniform is all done as well, my mom in law said she will be the one to launder them and iron them as well.

Our neighbor who sew Keisha's clothes still hasn't finished one skirt, but she promised to do so before the 10th of June, when Keisha's school starts. I hope everything goes well on Keisha's first day at school. She's going to school at the Sto. Rosario Montessori School.
